KATHY WITT is a travel writer who contributes regularly to these magazines: Atlanta-based Points North, Georgia, Kentucky Living, Kentucky Monthly, Long Weekends, Missouri Life and Travel Goods Showcase, among others, and to these newspapers: The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Cincinnati Enquirer, The Courier Journal, Huntsville Times and The Tennessean. She also writes the monthly “On the Doll Trail” column for Dolls Magazine. A member of the Midwest Travel Writers Association, she travels frequently through the U.S. southeast and Midwest.

In spring of 2009, Kathy's book, Kentucky An Explorer's Guide, co-authored by Deborah Kohl Kremer, will be published by Countryman Press. She is a contributing author, in the category of women in literature, to The Encyclopedia of Northern Kentucky, which will be published by the University Press of Kentucky, also in 2009.


Kathy has won numerous awards for her writing, including those from MTWA's Mark Twain Travel Writing Competition and from Writer's Digest Annual Writing Competitions in the features category.


In the past two years, Kathy has been awarded two grants from the Lilly Foundation to pursue graduate-level courses in the field of English Literature/Humanities. For one, she completed a children's book project entitled Peace Soup. She recently completed coursework for the other and is now working on a book project that resulted from her research.


Kathy has written 26 children's books for Malaysia's ESL program, including the award-winning Teegan’s Travels series. Contact the author for more information on this early learning reading series.
