In spring of 2009, Kathy's book, Kentucky An Explorer's Guide, co-authored by Deborah Kohl Kremer, will be published by Countryman Press. She is a contributing author, in the category of women in literature, to The Encyclopedia of Northern Kentucky, which will be published by the University Press of Kentucky, also in 2009. Kathy has won numerous awards for her writing, including those from MTWA's Mark Twain Travel Writing Competition and from Writer's Digest Annual Writing Competitions in the features category. In the past two years, Kathy has been awarded two grants from the Lilly Foundation to pursue graduate-level courses in the field of English Literature/ Kathy has written 26 children's books for Malaysia's ESL program, including the award-winning Teegan’s Travels series.
